With summer quickly approaching, it is time to start enjoying tasty summer cocktails from the comfort of your own back porch. Summer is the perfect time to sit back and relax outside at the end of the day. Whether you enjoy a drink on your own or with a few friends, here are three cocktail recipes that are sure to delight and awaken your senses.
Mango Colada
If you are not a pineapple fan but still like the flavor and texture of a pina coloda, try a mango colada! In order to whip up four mango coladas for you and your friends, you will need to combine the following ingredients in a blend until the ingredients are smooth yet still a little thick.
- 1 cup crushed ice (you only need to use 1/2 cup ice if you use frozen mangoes instead of fresh mangoes)
- 1/2 cup of your favorite rum
- 1/3 cup cream of coconut
- Juice from one lime
- 1 cup cubed mango (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup mango juice or nectar, unsweetened
Melon Mint Refresher: If you enjoy sipping on green tea during the summer, but need something that packs a little more punch, the melon mint refresher is right for it. It combines the flavor of green tea with a little bit of limejuice and mint to create a refreshing summer evening cocktail. Mix the following ingredients in a glass that is filled with ice, stir and enjoy.
- 1 mint spring
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 6 ounces green tea (you can mix it up by using green tea with additional flavors, such as watermelon)
- 2 ounces of your favorite rum
Tropical Sangria: If you prefer a great cup of wine, mix up some tropical sangria for you and your friends. Add a little moscato, white whine, orange juice, and some blueberry puree, and you have yourself a tropical getaway.
- 4 ounces of your favorite Moscato
- 1 ounce of blueberry puree (or you can a puree of your favorite fruit)
- 1 ounce orange juice
- A couple blueberries (or another summer fruit you enjoy)
