When you invest in marble, you are investing in a beautiful surface that you expect to last for years and years to come. What some people do not realize going in is that marble requires some upkeep to retain its original beauty. Etch marks and stains can mar the appearance of your carefully chosen marble floor or countertop, which can be frustrating considering the investment that marble surfaces represent. Etch marks are a risk factor wherever there are acidic substances used around the marble. A vinegar spill on a kitchen countertop, for example, could cause an unsightly blemish on your marble.
A Range of Products
At MB Stone Care & Supply, we have a range of marble care products that help you protect your investment and keep it looking beautiful long into the future. One of our solutions for maintaining beautiful marble is our MB-11 marble polishing powder. After you use it in the manner described on the tub, you should ideally use our MB-5 cleaner (it is conveniently packaged in a spray bottle) on the area. When you wipe away the cleaner, you will no longer see the etch mark. Be aware that this marble polishing powder is designed to help you maintain your polished marble that has been lightly damaged. It will help you rid your marble of light, smooth etch marks, but if your marble is displaying signs of rougher, deeper etching, we can help you with that, too.
A Solution to Etch Marks
Etch marks appear quickly, and if you do not know how to eradicate them, they can stay, reminding you of the spill every time you look at them. A solution allows you to rid your carefully chosen floor or tabletop of these unsightly marks, however. If you have marble in any area of your home where it might be exposed to an acidic substance, you will want to invest in marble polishing powder to have on hand in case of such a minor emergency. When an etch mark occurs, simply sprinkle a little marble polishing powder on the offending spot. Spray a small amount of water on the powder and then rub a dampened cloth over the powdered area for roughly 20 seconds.
