Scope rings are an important part of the targeting and accuracy of any rifle, although they are not the first thing that comes to mind. Even the best optics can be less than ideal for hitting the target if the scope is not securely mounted to the weapon to prevent any movement or changes in the positioning of the scope.
Unfortunately, when people are mounting the scope, they often don’t take the time to choose the best in 30mm scope rings. As these are a relatively low-cost component for the weapon, they are often overlooked. Choosing the best quality, you can find from a reputable aftermarket manufacturer will give your scope the solid, durable mount to the weapon for casual shooters or those in competitive shooting events.
Ease of Installation
For ease of use and installation, the 30mm scope rings that offer the spacer bar are a good option. This allows the correct positioning on both rings once the rear ring is located in the correct position.
Even the two separate scope rings are going to easy to work with, even if you do not have a lot of gun repair experience. Just make sure to verify that the scope rings will work with the scope to provide the clearance required for the weapon, specifically to allow full cartridge ejection. Some rings are available with additional inserts that be fitted to the inside of the ring to attach a smaller diameter of scope.
Ideally, make sure that the scope rings selected are the same brand and type as the mounts and that the mounts match the rails. This prevents common problems with mismatched rings and bases.
Also, as most 30mm scope rings will come with Torx head top screws, be sure to have the right tools on hand to allow for correct removal and tightening of the screws without stripping the head.
