Every business will require drying methods for the restrooms, even if you don’t allow customers to use the facility. Employees are required by law in most states to wash their hands after using the bathroom and must adequately dry them. While you can choose paper towels, they may not keep costs down and can spread germs, all while requiring more work to keep the space clean. A hand dryer may be the best choice for you, but installation may seem difficult. In most cases, it is considered possible to install these dryers yourself, especially if you just plug it into the wall socket, but it’s usually best to hire someone with electrical experience to help you.
Why Hard-Wired
In most cases, regulations say that the hand dryer you purchase and choose must be hard-wired into the electrical system. Just plugging it in, while an easy installation, isn’t acceptable because it could easily become unplugged or vandalized. Regulations also state that hardwired dryers must be installed by a qualified service technician according to local rules and codes. It may be best to do this before you purchase the item because you’ll have a better idea of what work is required.
When It Arrives
Once you’ve bought it and it ships to your location, you will want to check that all the pieces are there. The electrician you choose will connect all the wires and will provide a mounting template to position it onto the wall. In most cases, they will not supply these things, and you will be required to get the mounting template and ensure that it fits properly before they arrive.
On the day of hand dryer installation, you should find out the optimum height for the machine to make sure that it works for all sorts of hands and this information can be found in the manual.
