PCB (Printed Circuit Board) are used to mechanically support and connect electronic components using conductive pathways, tracks and signal traces etched from copper. The circuit board was not developed fully until the 20Th century. The project did not become a common item until the United States army started to do some auto assembly in the 1950s. It slowly gained its popularity and is now used in all but the simplest form of electronic devices. Before the production of the PCB , point to point construction was used. This took a lot of time and just wasn’t practical for the amount of new technical ideas that were coming out. The Manufacturing of the PCB takes place all over the world. The unwanted copper is just simply removed using a subtract. This step isn’t as easy as it seems. It takes numerous steps and time to complete. They do this time consuming process because it causes less pollution in the environment. The first one is while the device is off you do a visual inspection and an automated optical inspection. The second is while it is on you do a function test. You simply check to see if the PCB does what it is supposed to do. The entire process is long and time consuming. While we use all of our devices everyday, we never stop to think of the amount of work put into creating that device.
