Pressure Dilute Phase: Powder conveying systems that use pressure dilute phase are rather common and are often the standard option for pressure-based powder conveying systems. The powdered material that go through these systems do not have any issues regarding fragility or abrasiveness, and can pass through the lines without concern.

Vacuum Dense Phase: Vacuum-based systems are the opposite of pressure-based ones, as they use negative air pressure to pull or suck the material through the system. As with pressure dense phase systems, they work well for powdered material where there is concerns over damage. However, vacuum dense phase powdered conveying systems are best used for material that is traveling over a short distance.

Vacuum Dilute Phase: As with pressure dilute phase systems, vacuum dilute phase powder conveying systems work well with material that is abrasive, fragile, etc. It also is best for material that is traveling over short distances, as with vacuum dense phase powder conveying systems, but it also works well with smaller quantities of material. They can be used for continuous conveying, where the system does not need to be shut down or halted for new material to be added. A filtered receiver will also be necessary with this kind of powder conveying system to remove impurities and outside substances from the powder that are pulled into the system by the vacuum function.
